Ingredients

Dough and Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pan.
  • Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla.
  • Mix dry ingredients, then combine with wet, alternating with milk.
  • Fold in apples and cinnamon, pour batter into pan.
  • Mix brown sugar, oats, and cold butter for crumble; sprinkle over batter.
  • Bake 45-50 minutes, cool slightly before serving.
