A quick and delicious homemade beef and broccoli stir-fry that captures the flavors of Chinese take-out.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for serving cooked rice

Instructions 

  • Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Marinate beef for 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a skillet, stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds.
  • Add beef, cook until browned (3-4 min), then remove from skillet.
  • Stir-fry broccoli 2-3 min until bright green and tender.
  • Return beef, add broth, cook 2-3 min until sauce thickens and broccoli is crunchy.
  • Serve over cooked rice.

Notes

Use high heat for stir-frying to prevent steaming the vegetables.
