Ingredients

Pasta

  • 300 g rigatoni pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 unit onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 400 g canned diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish fresh basil leaves
  • optional grated parmesan cheese

Instructions 

  • Cook the rigatoni until al dente, then drain.
  • Heat olive oil, sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and cook briefly.
  • Add tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper; simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Mix cooked pasta into the sauce and heat through for 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve garnished with basil leaves and Parmesan if desired.
