A delicious holiday side dish combining tender green beans in a creamy sauce topped with crispy fried onions for added crunch.
Ingredients
Green Beans

fresh green beans, trimmed

can
cream of mushroom soup
(10.5 oz can)

milk

cup
shredded cheddar cheese

cup
crispy fried onions
(for topping)
0.25
tsp
garlic powder
to taste
salt and pepper

additional crispy fried onions for topping
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Blanch green beans for 5 minutes, then drain and rinse.
Mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Add green beans and cheese, stir well.
Transfer to a greased 9x13 inch dish. Top with 1/2 cup fried onions.
Bake for 25 minutes, then add remaining fried onions on top and bake for 10 more minutes until golden.
Let cool briefly before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of soy sauce or hot sauce to the mixture.
