A quick and nutritious pasta dish featuring vibrant broccoli and flavorful garlic, perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 oz whole grain pasta

Vegetables

  • 2 cups broccoli florets

Oils & Condiments

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Garlic & Spices

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Seasonings

  • to taste salt and pepper

Cheese & Citrus

  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
  • fresh lemon juice (optional) lemon juice

Instructions 

  • Cook pasta until al dente, reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  • Heat olive oil, sauté garlic and red pepper flakes for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add broccoli and cook until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Combine pasta with broccoli, add reserved water if needed, season with salt and pepper.
  • Stir in Parmesan and lemon juice if desired, serve immediately.

Notes

You can add more lemon juice or cheese to taste for extra flavor.
