A luscious tart combining creamy ricotta and cream cheese with a zesty lemon flavor, perfect for elegant occasions.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons ice water

Filling

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • zest of 1 lemon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Garnish (optional)

  • optional fresh berries and mint for garnish

Instructions 

  • Mix flour, sugar, and salt; cut in cold butter until coarse crumbs. Add egg yolk and ice water; form dough, chill 30 mins.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out dough, fit into tart pan, prick bottom, and bake 15-20 mins until golden. Cool.
  • Beat ricotta, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, lemon zest, and lemon juice until smooth. Spread into cooled shell.
  • Optional: Garnish with berries and mint. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Ensure the tart is well chilled before serving for best texture.
