Enjoy a quick and hearty twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak with ground beef and melted provolone cheese in a soft hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Meat and Vegetables

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste salt and pepper

Bread and Cheese

  • 4 hoagie rolls hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté vegetables until softened.
  • Add ground beef, cook until browned, then stir in garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Divide beef mixture into four portions, top each with cheese, and cover until melted.
  • Toast rolls if desired, then fill with beef and cheese mixture. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture.
