A bright and flavorful lemon pasta dish that's light, refreshing, and easy to make without any butter or cream. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal!

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 1 pound pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine)

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 lemon lemon (zested)
  • 1/2 cup pasta water (reserved)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions 

  • Cook pasta until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), cook until fragrant (1 minute).
  • Pour in lemon juice and zest. Simmer for 1 minute.
  • Add pasta to skillet and toss to coat.
  • Gradually add pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
  • Stir in parsley.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve with Parmesan cheese (if desired).

Notes

Adjust the amount of lemon juice and red pepper flakes to your preference.
