Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

Dairy & Fats

  • 2 tablespoons butter

Vegetables & Aromatics

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated

Canned Goods

  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes

  • 1 cup heavy cream

Spices

  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon cumin

Seasonings

  • to taste salt

Garnish & Serve

  • fresh cilantro for garnish
  • cooked rice or naan for serving

Instructions 

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and ginger, cooking for 1 minute.
  • Add chicken and cook until no longer pink.
  • Stir in spices, then add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat, stir in heavy cream, cook for 5 minutes, then garnish with cilantro and serve.

Notes

For a milder flavor, reduce spices; serve with rice or naan for a complete meal.
