A flavorful and quick pasta dish featuring succulent shrimp, zesty lemon, and fragrant garlic. Perfect for a simple yet satisfying meal for two.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 6 ounces spaghetti or linguine (cooked al dente)

Shrimp

  • 12 ounces raw shrimp (peeled and deveined (medium-sized preferred))

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (extra virgin preferred)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium lemon (juiced and zested)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
  • to taste Salt and black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)

Instructions 

  • Cook pasta until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.
  • Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes in olive oil until fragrant.
  • Cook shrimp until pink and opaque; set aside.
  • Lower heat, add butter (if using), lemon zest, and juice. Add pasta water.
  • Return shrimp and pasta to pan; toss with sauce. Add parsley, salt, and pepper. Add pasta water if needed.
  • Serve immediately, optionally drizzling with olive oil.

Notes

Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your spice preference. For a richer flavor, use homemade pasta.
