spaghetti or linguine
(cooked al dente)
Shrimp

ounces
raw shrimp
(peeled and deveined (medium-sized preferred))
Sauce

tablespoons
olive oil
(extra virgin preferred)

cloves
garlic
(minced)
1
medium
lemon
(juiced and zested)
1/4
teaspoon
red pepper flakes
(optional)

fresh parsley
(chopped)
to taste
Salt and black pepper

butter
(optional)
Instructions
Cook pasta until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.
Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes in olive oil until fragrant.
Cook shrimp until pink and opaque; set aside.
Lower heat, add butter (if using), lemon zest, and juice. Add pasta water.
Return shrimp and pasta to pan; toss with sauce. Add parsley, salt, and pepper. Add pasta water if needed.
Serve immediately, optionally drizzling with olive oil.
Notes
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your spice preference. For a richer flavor, use homemade pasta.
