A classic holiday side dish, this creamy green bean casserole is easy to prepare in a slow cooker and topped with crispy fried onions.

Ingredients

Green Beans

  • 2 cans green beans, drained

Cream of Mushroom Soup

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Milk

  • 0.5 cup milk

Cheddar Cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

French Fried Onions

  • 1 cup french fried onions

Garlic Powder

  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder

Black Pepper

  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Salt

  • to taste salt

Instructions 

  • Combine green beans, mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt in a slow cooker. Mix well.
  • Stir in 3/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
  • Top with remaining cheddar cheese and fried onions. Cover and cook for 30 minutes.

Notes

For extra crunch, add more fried onions just before serving.
