A classic Southern side dish combining tender green beans with creamy mushroom soup, cheddar cheese, and crispy fried onions for a flavorful casserole.

Ingredients

Green Beans

  • 2 cans green beans, drained
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup fried onions
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Mix green beans, mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup cheddar and 1/2 cup fried onions.
  • Pour into a greased 9x13 inch dish and bake 25 minutes.
  • Top with remaining cheddar and fried onions, bake 10-15 minutes.
  • Let cool briefly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce or paprika.
