A flavorful and easy-to-make dish featuring tender chicken glazed in a sweet-savory sauce served over jasmine rice.

Ingredients

Rice

  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice

Chicken

  • 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless

Sauces and oils

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Garnishes and optional

  • 2 green onions sliced green onions
  • to taste sesame seeds for garnish
  • optional steamed vegetables (for serving)

Instructions 

  • Mix soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to make a marinade.
  • Add chicken to marinade and let sit for 30 minutes.
  • Cook chicken in a skillet for 5-7 minutes per side until done. Rest and slice.
  • In the same skillet, mix cornstarch and water, add to marinade, and simmer until thickened.
  • Assemble bowls with rice, sliced chicken, and sauce. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Add vegetables if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken longer or add a dash of chili flakes for heat.
