A classic holiday side dish featuring tender green beans baked with creamy mushroom soup and crispy onions.

Ingredients

Green Beans

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz can)
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup french fried onions
  • 0.5 teaspoon soy sauce
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Blanch green beans in boiling salted water for 5 minutes, then drain.
  • Mix mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Add green beans and stir.
  • Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with fried onions and cheese if using.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

For a lighter version, skip the cheese.
