A flavorful and easy-to-make stuffing perfect for Thanksgiving, combining cornbread, vegetables, herbs, and optional sausage and pecans.

Ingredients

Dried Mix

  • 1 box jiffy cornbread mix
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup cooked sausage (optional) (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional) (optional)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare and bake cornbread according to package instructions.
  • Melt butter in a skillet; sauté celery and onion until softened.
  • Crumble baked cornbread into a large bowl. Mix in sautéed vegetables, chicken broth, herbs, eggs, and optional sausage and pecans.
  • Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden.
  • Let cool briefly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of additional herbs or spices as desired.
