A classic Southern side dish, this green bean casserole combines tender green beans with creamy mushroom soup, cheddar cheese, and crispy onions for a flavorful and easy-to-make dish.

Ingredients

Green Beans

  • 2 cans green beans, drained
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Mix green beans, mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir in 3/4 cup cheese and 1/2 cup fried onions.
  • Pour into a greased 9x13 inch dish, top with remaining cheese and onions.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Let cool briefly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce or paprika on top before baking.
